Welcome to Play and Learn quiz game, operated and developed by ARI Software Lab (referred to as we, our, or us). We are committed to protecting the privacy, security, and personal information of our users, including children, parents, students, and educators.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you download, install, access, or play our mobile application Play and Learn quiz game (package name com.arisoftware.playandlearn), available on the Google Play Store.

By using the application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the application.

2. OUR TARGET AUDIENCE AND CHILDRENS PRIVACY (COPPA AND FAMILIES POLICY COMPLIANCE)

Play and Learn quiz game is an educational quiz platform designed for students ranging from Class 1 through Class 10 as well as lifelong learners. Because our audience includes children under the age of 13, we take special precautions to protect their safety and privacy:

a) Full COPPA Compliance: We comply strictly with the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.

b) Google Play Families Policy Compliance: We adhere strictly to the Google Play Developer Program Families Policy. All ad units shown to younger audiences are certified family safe, non personalized, and age appropriate.

c) Guest Mode and Anonymous Play: Children and students can play all quizzes, explore educational topics, and practice questions completely in Guest Mode without creating an account, logging in, or providing any personal details whatsoever.

d) Parental Rights: Parents and legal guardians have the right to review any personal information collected from their child, request immediate deletion of the account and associated records, and refuse any further collection. If you believe your child has submitted personal details without parental permission, please email us immediately at support@arisoftwarelab.com or arisoftwarelab@gmail.com and we will permanently erase the data within 30 days.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the educational features of the application.

3.1 Information You Provide to Us

a) Account and Profile Information: When you choose to register an account using Email and Password or Google Sign In, we receive your email address, display name, and an optional profile picture URL. If you set your academic grade (such as Class 1 through Class 10), this preference is saved to show grade appropriate quiz content.

b) Educational and Quiz Progress: When you participate in quizzes, tests, and challenges while signed in, we store your quiz scores, accuracy percentages, levels unlocked, and total attempts so you can monitor your academic progress and view rankings.

c) Guest Mode: If you choose to skip sign in, no personal identifying information (no name, no email) is collected or stored on our servers. Your practice progress is saved only on your local device.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

a) Device and Usage Details: When you access the app, basic technical information may be collected automatically by Google Play Services to ensure compatibility and reliable performance. This includes device model, operating system version, app version, language setting, and network connection status.

b) Local Storage: The app uses local device storage (SharedPreferences) to remember your sound preferences, notification toggle settings, and daily quiz claim status. This data never leaves your device.

3.3 Permissions Requested

We only request permissions that are essential for the operation of the application:

a) INTERNET: Required to fetch quiz questions, synchronize scores, and update leaderboards.

b) ACCESS NETWORK STATE: Used to detect if your device is connected to WiFi or mobile data so the app can function smoothly.

c) POST NOTIFICATIONS: Optional permission used solely to deliver helpful study reminders and daily quiz alerts. You can disable this permission at any time in device settings.

d) VIBRATE: Used to provide gentle tactile haptic feedback during quiz interactions.

We DO NOT request access to your precise GPS location, contacts, phone calls, SMS, camera, microphone, or external storage files.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the collected information exclusively for the following purposes:

a) To deliver, operate, and maintain educational quiz categories across multiple subjects and school grades.

b) To save your learning progress, calculate subject mastery scores, and display personal achievements.

c) To enable friendly educational leaderboards and global student rankings.

d) To authenticate registered users and provide secure account recovery.

e) To identify and fix technical glitches, crashes, and performance bottlenecks.

f) To deliver family safe, non personalized advertisements that fund the free availability of the game.

g) To communicate important security, policy, or feature updates.

5. THIRD PARTY SERVICES AND SDK DISCLOSURES

To provide reliable services, we integrate vetted third party developer tools provided by Google. Each third party handles information in compliance with their respective privacy policies and Google Play regulations:

a) Google Firebase Authentication: Used to provide secure login via email or Google account.

c) Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to show family friendly advertisements in free versions of the app. For users categorized in the Families audience or under 13, all ad requests are explicitly flagged as Child Directed (COPPA compliant) and non personalized. No behavioral tracking, device fingerprinting, or profiling is performed.

6. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information to any third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

a) Authorized Service Providers: Cloud infrastructure and authentication providers (Google Firebase and Google Cloud) that process data solely on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.

b) Legal and Regulatory Obligations: If required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental authority to protect our rights, prevent fraud, or ensure user safety.

c) Business Continuity: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, user data will remain subject to the commitments made in this Privacy Policy.

7. DATA RETENTION AND ACCOUNT DELETION

We retain your personal data only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with quiz services.

You retain full control over your data:

a) In App Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated records directly inside the application by navigating to Profile or Settings and tapping Delete Account.

b) Email Deletion Request: You can request complete deletion of your profile, email, and quiz history at any time by emailing our data protection team at support@arisoftwarelab.com or arisoftwarelab@gmail.com with the subject line Account Deletion Request.

c) Deletion Timeframe: Upon receiving your request, your personal data and quiz records will be permanently purged from our Firebase servers within 30 days.

8. DATA SECURITY

We take the security of your information very seriously. All communications between the Play and Learn quiz game app and our backend servers are encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 or higher) and SSL. Authentication tokens and database records are safeguarded behind Google Firebase enterprise grade security rules.

While we strive to employ commercially acceptable means of protecting your personal information, please remember that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely infallible.

9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Our cloud databases are hosted by Google Cloud across secure global regions. If you access the app from outside the region where servers are located, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in accordance with standard global data protection principles and this policy.

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new app features, technological advancements, or changes in legal regulations. When changes are made, the Last Updated date at the top of this document will be updated. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
